This morning I looked outside our balcony door and my flowers were drooping. We had a killing frost.
Good thing I finally got around to transplanting one of my new guinea impatiens plants yesterday, just in the nick of time! I really want to experiment and see whether the plant will winter over inside my home.
Isn’t it wonderful how everyday, mundane tasks can bring such joy? I loved holding the soft soil in my hands, and seeing how beautiful the flower petals looked after having fallen down during the transplanting.
Hopefully this lovely little plant will survive and thrive, perhaps long enough to see another summer on the balcony.
This is the sort of small, satisfying project I wish I got around to more often!

It was satisfying… now to see whether the plant makes it through the winter in the house.
