Spring has passed, summer is waning, and fall is soon to arrive. It’s hard to believe that so much time has passed!
While I did mention a few months ago that my posts might become less frequent, I did not imagine that such a long time would pass before posting again. Life gets busy for us all, and a break from my frequent posts here was needed.
Last time I promised to share pictures of the wedding cake I made in April (my first ever wedding cake). So here they are! They are in a gallery, so feel free to click through them.
Each tier of the cake was a different flavor with separate fillings: bottom tier was chocolate cake with a raspberry Swiss meringue buttercream filling; middle tier was vanilla with Boston creme and fresh strawberries; the top was a lemon cake filled with homemade lemon curd.
The cake came out delicious and the consensus among the wedding guests was that the lemon and chocolate tiers were the favorites.
The whole cake was frosted with Swiss meringue buttercream. It was a true labor of love and required lots of planning and many steps.
Maybe I can get into more detail in a future post, but just as a quick overview: each part of the cake was made totally from “scratch”, except for the butterflies and the raspberry jam that I added to the Swiss meringue buttercream to make the chocolate cake filling.

I leave you with this lovely image of snow drops, taken last spring. Soon it will be time to add pictures of falling leaves and crisp autumn days.
So lovely!
