Before Thanksgiving I bought a very large bag of cranberries, with the goal of using them in holiday baking and cooking
This delightful fresh cranberry bars recipe was a perfect choice because of it’s simplicity, ease of preparation, and the delightful combination of both buttery and zinging flavors. Many thanks to Sue and The View from Great Island for this lovely recipe.

The preparation is wonderfully easy.
Basically, the butter is creamed and the sugar and vanilla are added and mixed.
Next, the dry ingredients are added and mixed only until combined.
A layer of dough is pressed into the bottom of the pan, the whole fresh cranberries scattered on top, and a final layer of dough added.
The bars are baked until lightly golden. Voilà!
